Google Earth Murray River
Placemarks
|
Locations along the river
have been identified in a Google Earth Placemark
file. The
placemark file
can either be downloaded as a file, or used as a
network link by the Google Earth program.
If you download the file, you can use it
even when you aren't connected to the Internet,
but if you set it as a network link, you will
need to be connected to the Internet, but you
will always get the latest version available
If you have placemarks that
you think would like to include in this file,
please send your placemark file to the
webmaster
and your work will be included (with
acknowledgement).
Google Earth (Broadband
Essential!!) can be downloaded for free at

On-Line
Mapping Services
|
The South
Australian, Victorian and New South Wales State
Governments each provide an on-line Geographic
Information System (GIS) that can provide
valuable information to river users. Probably
one of the most useful services is the mapping
services that allow you to plot maps of the
river and the surrounding towns and country
side. Some, such as the Victorian Government
site sells 1:30,000 topographical maps on-line
Unfortunately,
the programs used to select and displays the
maps varies between the states, but with a bit
of practice, they are easy enough to drive.
