Members Meetings
In addition to the Annual
General Meeting (AGM), the Association holds two members
meeting throughout the year. These meetings are generally
preceded by an informal dinner. The objective of the dinner
and meeting is to socialise with other members and to
discuss matters of interest to the Association. These
meetings gives the membership the opportunity to provide
guidance to the committee and receive updates from the
committee on matters affecting the Association.
Prospective members are
welcome at the members meetings.
Please contact

intend to attend the dinner and/or meeting to ensure that
enough places are reserved.

The June Members Meeting
will include a presentation by the EPA on the risks
greywater in the Murray River and the impacts on
private boat owners. This meeting will be of interest to
everyone who uses a boat with overnight accommodation on the
Murray River.
Discussions with the EPA in
February were cordial and very productive and indicate that
they generally consider private houseboats (& cruisers) that
are not permanently occupied to be a low risk in terms of
greywater pollution. It was also recognised that the
existing greywater processing units are designed for high
flow rates expected on the hire boats.
An EPA representative will
be presenting information on the studies that have been
conducted into greywater from houseboats and the potential
health issues. He will also provide guidance on the
strategies that private boat owners can put in place to
reduce the quantity and level of contamination in the
greywater produced.
This meeting will be of
interest to everyone who uses a boat with overnight
accommodation on the Murray River.
It is expected that this
