Calculators
The RMBOA has
produced a series of calculators for river users. If you
know the cruising speed of your vessel and its average fuel
consumption, the trip calculator can be used to estimate
travelling times, fuel consumption and cost of a voyage.
The Black Water Calculator
can be used to calculate the capacity of a boat's sewage
(black water) holding tank. If the average volume of a
toilet flush is known, the calculator can estimate the
capacity of the black water tank in person days. These
calculations allow river users to estimate how often the
holding tanks will need to be emptied based on the number of
people on-board.
The Grey Water Calculator
is similar to the Black Water Calculator, but deals with the
waste water from sinks, showers, washing machines (if
fitted) and dish washers (if fitted). This calculator is
provided to allow people to understand the grey water
produced by their vessel and thus allow them to determine
what is requried when grey water regulations come into
force.
